Learning and Fun - outside the classroom
Social Programme

Language learning is made much more fun and active through the afternoon and evening programme of social activities, sports events, and educational visits and excursions.
We make sure there is something for everyone, for example -

 Aerobics
 Cinema Trips
 Cookery
 Discos
 Fashion Shows
 Karaoke Evenings
 Quizzes
 Roller Skating
 Treasure Hunts

We like you to take part in as many social activities as you can because it helps you practise your English. But we also understand that older students may want to spend some time on their own, so some activities are optional.

At The Leys, Bloxham, King’s, Ely and Bell Saffron Walden students over 12 years old are allowed to go to the nearby village or town to do their own shopping or sight-seeing provided they sign out and go with at least 2 other students.

Sports Programme

Each centre has a wide range of sports facilities, supervised by qualified staff. Your programme includes a range of sports activities, and we encourage you to choose those you like best, whether you enjoy team games such as basketball or volleyball, football, tennis, indoor hockey, or prefer individual activities such as swimming.

Other sports activities may be available locally, such as horse-riding, golf, ice-skating, weight training, rock climbing, or ten pin bowling, some of which will be at extra cost.

Pocket Money

The full programme of organised activities and excursions is included in the fees so you only need to bring pocket money with you.

There are additional optional activities you may wish to pay for, for example, golf or a special trip to the theatre. We look after your pocket money for you and we help you to manage your money while you are with us.

and projects. Staff members are friendly and fun. There are lots of sports, evening activities
and access to the Internet and email”
